Some Midlands based melodic rock will be part of The Midlands Rocks presents show at The Robin, in Bilston on July 16th. We are delighted to have Daylight Robbery on the bill who are always consistently impressive live and Birmingham based Corvus will be making one of their first live performances performing tracks from their debut album Chasing Miracles which is released in June. Tickets can be purchased at The Robin website or by phone at 01902 401211. Other bands performing will be Classic Rockers Soley Mourning and hard rockers The Black Hounds and Voodoo Sioux.
Crown of Thorns duo Beauviour Free are back with a new album American Trash which harks back to the glory days of the debut Crown of Thorns album. It will be released via Frontiers Records in early June and will feature track such as ‘Angel’s Cry’, ‘Shotgun To The Heart’, ‘Just Breathe’ and ‘Never Give Up’. Vince O’Regan has just released his second solo album Tunnel Vision and another of Vince’s bands Escape have commenced work on a third album with a yet to be named new lead singer.

Austrian pop rockers Cornerstone reveal European tour dates shortly following the announcement of their new front woman Alina Peter. Cornerstone hit the following Midlands venues, 2nd July King Billy, Northampton and 10th July at The Sal in Nottingham.
The latest Rock Candy re-issues will be Dokken’s classic Back For The Attack and Glenn Hughes fronted Trapeze self titled album and Hot Wired.
Whitesnake have confirmed their new Keyboard player is Italian Michelle Luppi, another shock addition to the band!
Former Yes man Billy Sherwood will release a new solo album Citizen through Frontiers Records. The concept album will feature lots of guests including John Wetton, Rick Wakeman, Steve Hackett, Steve Morse and John Wesley. Billy has also reformed World Trade with all original members back on board for an album to be released in the near future.
Michael Schenker is back on the road in January 2016 promoting his new Temple Of Rock album Spirit On A Mission. These tour dates will include a return trip to The Robin in Bilston on Wednesday 20th January!

Australian melodic rockers Hansel will release 69 Minutes with Hansel on June 15th. It’s not a new album but a re-release of their album Never Say Die and two hard to find EP’s Mission To Rock and Fluorescent Blue Lights.
Frontiers Records have announced a new signing – German melodic hard rockers Supremacy who are slated to release an album in late 2015 or early 2016. This band features so well know names and faces including Claus Lessman of Bonfire fame, Michael Voss of Mad Max. They have made a statement claiming the album will sound like classic era Bonfire.
Lions Pride Music will release two EP’s from Brazilian acts this June. They have signed Marenna who will release My Unconditional Faith EP it will feature six tracks and three music videos. You can watch the lyric video for ‘You Need To Believe’ below.
The second EP is from Horyzon and their three track EP is been compared to the like of AOR heavyweights Journey, Survivor and FM.

I recently discovered Manchester based rockers Mohawk Radio and I think they will definitely appeal to the average melodic rocker, powerful vocals and a strong guitar presence! Check out their official video for ‘Lifetime Sunshine’ – I know I’m a sucker for female vocalists but seriously check this out!
I didn’t see this coming but West Midlander Mitchel Emms has been announced as the new vocalist of The Treatment. The former Toxic Federation front man Emms also gained some fame from appearing on BBC 1 talent show The Voice a couple of years ago where he reached the live shows.
Norway’s Faith Circus have announced a new line-up for their forthcoming tour and new album due out on Melodic Rock Records later this year.
Italian guitarist Dario Mollo is putting the finishing touches of the third Voodoo Hill album. Mollo once more teams up with Black Country vocalist Glenn Hughes and this will be Hughes first album following the short lived California Breed project. Waterfall will be released on Frontiers Records in September.
Asia will release another live album/DVD package via Frontiers Records in June. Axis XXX live in San Francisco was recorded at the Regency Ballroom on November 7th 2012 and featuring the original line-up. It of course features some of the bands biggest hit’s including ‘Heat of The Moment’, ‘Don’t Cry’, ‘The Smile has Left your Eyes’ and ‘Wildest Dreams’.
One of the busiest keyboardist’s in the genre Eric Ragno has joined the live line-up of the legendary The Babys just in time for the Summer US tour.

The album will feature the following tracks, ‘Shame On Me’, ‘Love Me Love Me Not’, ‘Forgive You’ and ‘Firefly’. I’m a massive fan of these guys so I have high expectations for this one!
Chilean singer Caterina Nix has teamed up with Finnish metal icon Timo Tolkki for her new solo project Chaos Magic. The self titled debut album will be released via Frontiers Records on July 5th. Expect something along the lines of Symphonic metal but with a strong melodic edge. The track listing will include ‘I’m Alive’, ‘Passionflow’, ‘Please Don’t Tell Me’ and ‘A Little Too Late’.
Former White Lion front man Mike Tramp returns with a new full electric band album Nomad set for release on August 28th. He supports the album with a string of UK live shows including 9th September The Diamond in Sutton, 17th September at the Iron Road Rock Pub and finally and a show at personal favourite venue of mine 23rd September The Robin in Bilston.
New Italian band Room Experience have just released a lyric video for the track ‘Run To You’ just ahead of their official debut album release on May 22nd via MelodicRock Records. The band of course features the distinctive vocals of Pink Cream 69 main man David Readman.

Escape Music will release the debut album from German’s Lioncage on the 19th June. It will feature the following songs ‘Mission of Love’, ‘Where Do We Go’, ‘Don’t Be Afraid’ and ‘Reach The Stars’. Taking their cue from the highly polished melodic rock of the eighties Lioncage are set to impress genre fans!
