Hirax emerged from the same Bay Area battlegrounds that spawned the likes of Metallica, Exodus and Testament. Paul Castles caught up with their indomitable frontman Katon W de Pena just prior to the thrash legends’ recent gig at the Birmingham Asylum.
“We should have been here in the UK 30 years ago! Touring’s not easy and it’s been a case of waiting for the right guys to tour with. We’re proud of the past but the current line-up are very accomplished players. We still enjoy a beer but not it’s 100% about the music”
