Gin Annie release a brand new single and video – Chains – on Fri 10 August 2018, as they begin a nationwide tour with Graham Bonnet Band.
Chains is taken from their forthcoming debut album slated for release in January 2019. It was produced and engineered by Jay Shredder and recorded at Shredder Live Lounge. It will be available via all mainstream download and streaming outlets and is accompanied by a promo video.
Gin Annie are a hard melodic rock 5-piece from Wolverhampton UK, featuring heavy guitar driven songs whilst maintaining a melodic vocal style, hook-laden choruses and classy melodies.
They are based around the nucleus of cousins – singer, Dave Foster and guitarist, Byron Garbett. The Black Country rockers recently introduced MKII of their line-up with a new guitarist (Brian Green) and bassist (Phill ‘Hammer’ Burrows) to beef up their already huge sound. Jack Ryland-Smith completes the line-up on drums.
Guitarist, Byron Garbett said: “Don’t forget, this is still a new line-up, this is just our 2nd song written together, so we are still finding our rhythm and our groove. But we loved recording this one, we have quite a few subtle layers; acoustic guitars, guitar licks and vocal harmonies on this song to give it that big sound. The intro-note you hear at the very beginning is the last two guitar chords, played in reverse with a sweep in volume. It’s a great live favourite of ours and from what we can tell, for our fans also.
The idea behind the song is about being shackled by your own thoughts; your own doubts about yourself and whether you can make things happen. Not unusual for a songwriter, I suppose. You question yourself, your belief in yourself and you feel chained up waiting to break free. Releasing a song to the public is all part of that whole creative process.”
GIN ANNIE head out on a nationwide tour with the Graham Bonnet Band in August, play the inaugural Leicester Rocks Festival with KING KING and have announced a 20 date European tour with NWOBHM legends, Diamond Head. They also play HRH Highway To Hell Finals, having won through on a public vote.
