New Killer Shoes: album update
Jul 12, 2012 | Comments 3
Redditch’s New Killer Shoes have been tearing up live stages up and down the region for the last year or so now, with both audiences and buzz growing all of the time. After a very successful excursion on the Kerrang Breakthru tour last December, and a superb acoustic session also on Kerrang Radio, the band will be unleashing their debut album – which they’ve been working on at Gospel Oak Studios with acclaimed producer Dan Sprigg – in a few months time.
Their debut video, for the track ‘Leave Me Alone’ (below), has also recently been playlisted on mainstream music channel Much Music over in Canada.
We’ve been lucky enough to get hold of a copy of the advance promotional CD EP here at The Midlands Rocks, and judging by the three tracks on there the album itself is going to be more than worth the wait. The tracks sound hugely accomplished for such a young band, and the song-writing, performances and production are going to ensure that NKS have all of the ammunition at their disposal to reach the next level. Thankfully the studio recordings have also captured the energy and ferocity of the band’s live performances – and if you haven’t experienced the band in the flesh yet, then we heartily recommend that you head down to the Roadhouse in Birmingham on Saturday the 28th of July. Get on board now, and beat the inevitable rush!

Fantastic news. Can’t wait for the album, heard the snippets on their webpage and seen them play a few gigs. Ace band with very original sounds.
