BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION, the Anglo-American rock group featuring Guitarist/vocalist Joe Bonamassa, bassist/vocalist Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Trapeze), drummer Jason Bonham (Led Zeppelin), and keyboardist Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater), have confirmed that their highly-anticipated third album will be entitled AFTERGLOW.
The album will be released in the UK on Monday October 29th via Mascot Records, followed by a US release on Tuesday October 30th on the J&R Adventures label.
Named after the industrial area in the British Midlands, where both Hughes and Bonham were born and raised, BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION made an explosive assault on the world of rock when they released their self-titled debut album in the summer of 2010.
The album charted at #1 on the official UK rock album chart (#12 on the overall UK album chart) and BCC were subsequently voted “Best New Band” by the listeners of Planet Rock Radio. The band made their live debut in December 2010 with 2 rapturously received UK shows, the first in the heart of the Black Country at the Wolverhampton Civic, the second at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire, rounding off a frantic few months for the group in triumphant fashion.
BCC’s second album quickly followed, “2” was released in June 2011 and once again went straight to the top of the UK rock album chart. Following a full nationwide UK tour over the summer of 2011, Black Country Communion was voted “Best Breakthrough” at the prestigious Classic Rock Magazine Roll Of Honour Awards in November 2011.
AFTERGLOW was produced by long-time BCC collaborator Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden, Black Crowes, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin). It was Shirley who originally brought the four musicians together and, having also produced the first two records, he is widely regarded as the “fifth member” of Black Country Communion.
