SUNDAY 29 May 2016 – SLAM DUNK FESTIVAL MIDLANDS – BIRMINGHAM GENTING ARENA

We can almost smell the margherita pizza filtering through the sky as the pop-punk fans gear up for one of UK’s most favoured festivals, Slam Dunk, who have just a third list of bands for this year’s carnage at the Genting Arena. Accompanying headliners, Panic! At the Disco and Of Mice & Men are a further 22 acts set to challenge just how many Brummies are able to cram in a circle pit, head bang till they can’t see straight and crowd-surf into the palms of their fellow Midlanders all before heading back down the M6 motorway home.

After conquering the festival in 2014 and leaving with an army’s worth of new fans, the Cambridge boys in, Mallory Knox, are set to return to 2016’s Slam Dunk for yet more riffage and good times. The band, who are proving to be one of the most successful rock bands emerging from the scene, are anticipated to blow the place up with their anthems off the newest release, ‘Asymmetry’.

Managing to combine just about every genre into their set are, Issues, offering a welcomed and invigorating breath of fresh air to music. New to the bill are the Canadian straight edge metalheads, Cancer Bats, returning for more raging in the UK to give every member of the crowd whiplash. New Found Glory will party till your brain bursts meanwhile, Hacktivist, will turn you into a rap God before sending you into the pits of burning hell with their teeth-clenching breakdowns.

Northlane will melt your face to the bone with their speedy set, ROAM will take you on a journey as they strive for pop-punk paradise and American rockers, Real Friends, will get you screaming till you sound like Yoko Ono; what more could you want from a festival?
