Midlands concert promoter wins National “Indie Promoter of the Year”

Emma Scott Presents – The Midlands’ leading independent new music promoter, has officially been crowned the UK’s ‘INDIE PROMOTER OF THE YEAR 2012′ at last week’s UK LIVE MUSIC BUSINESS AWARDS, which were held in the heart of West End of London.

The awards are the “behind the scenes” equivalent of the Brits Awards and are voted for by record labels, agents, managers, venues and major music industry insiders.

It is the second major award this year that Emma Scott Presents has been awarded and follows on from her Pure Rawk Awards triumph back in March.

Managing Director, Emma Scott said “I’m absolutely thrilled at being recognized once again for all the hard work my team and myself put into the gigs we put on in Birmingham & Wolverhampton. This is a really big deal for us and has helped put Birmingham and the Midlands music scene in general firmly back on the map.”

Other big winners at the awards included Foo Fighters, Emeli Sande, The Millenium Stadium in Cardiff and the LG Arena in Birmingham.

As well as being a multi award winning promoter, Emma Scott has a unique and extensive background within the music business. She has worked as a radio presenter for the last 24 years at major radio stations all over the country, including Birmingham-based Kerrang! Radio, where she spent 5 years from 2004 to 2009, throughout that time the station enjoyed it’s highest audience figures, thanks to Emma’s drivetime and then daytime shows.

Emma is still very much involved in radio, she currently presents for the UK ‘s largest commercial radio group, Global Radio on the Heart Network

As well as broadcasting and running her Emma Scott Presents concert promotions company, Emma is Managing Director of the Transmission Radio Skool and also hosts the Break Your Band music seminars at Universities and Colleges throughout the UK.

Emma Scott has recently published her first book which is known as a “musicians bible” – “Break Your Band: A Guide To Getting Radio Airplay” She is currently writing the next five books in the planned anthology.
