71 tracks of unremitting grind violence…
Released through Give Praise Records on 11 August 2017 and available here
Words by Jason Guest
71 tracks of slamming the shit out of stringed things and bashing the crap out of skinned and cymballed things and tearing and screaming and grunting and shouting and pig-squealing the entrails out of throaty things, Die Tonmeisterei Sessions brings together all of Dutch duo Jesus Crost’s releases since their 1996 formation. Blast beats and barbarity, it is all you’d expect and much more. Grind at its core, the duo cross over into powerviolence on occasion as well as dabble in all things heavy, metally, deathly, dark and murky. 71 tracks of unremitting violence may be a daunting prospect but the battery is beautiful and, sadly, over before you know it. Pretty good for a band that doesn’t exist anymore…
