With a name that most people aren’t quite sure how to pronounce, XVII had plenty of Midlands metalheads on their side when performing on the Hobgoblin New Blood Stage at Bloodstock. Paul Castles spoke with the Kidderminster trio afterwards to find out about their biggest ever show, recording plans and exactly what lies behind that name.
“It was nerve-wracking today, the biggest stage we’ve ever played. But to be a part of that was awesome! We didn’t expect that many people to turn out and see us. At the end of the set they were chanting our name, so we couldn’t believe it really. There’s some great bands in the Black Country so we were really proud to win the Wolverhampton leg of Metal 2 The Masses to earn our place here.”
