Whoh-oh Black Sabbath, bam-a-lam!

Words by Black Sabbath and Jason Guest

Released 17th November 2017

What is this that lies before me? Is it the end, my friend? No, no, please, no! While I was at The Robin 2 watching Half Man Half Biscuit, those that were there to witness Black Sabbath’s final shows on 2 and 4 Febryary 2017 in their hometown will tell you, “Yeah I saw it, I saw it, I tell you no lies… and you gotta believe me, I saw it, I saw it with my own two eyes.” Well, I don’t want no Jesus freak to tell me what it’s all about because I have the DVD. And as every day just comes and goes, believe what I tell you, this will suffer many a viewing. No doubt, the Pope – on the end of a rope or not – will never watch this. Do you think he’s a fool? Yes. He’s had the chance but he turned it down. Yes! I think it’s too late…

Could it be the end of man and time? Back on Earth the flame of life burns low. Everywhere is misery and woe. Pollution kills the air, the land, and sea. Man prepares to meet his destiny. But we have Black Sabbath’s last DVD. What you get and what you see hasn’t come easily. Of all the critics that slated them over the years, they’re the one who’s really a loser. Unlike witches at black masses, fans continued to gather in their masses and the riff machine known as Tony Iommi kept turning, music of deadly petals with a strange power that sends chills and numbs from head to toe. Turn the volume up and feel your spirit rise with the breeze, feel your body fall onto its knees. Almost 50 years and the love grows stronger now with every hour as your head starts spinning ’round, you fall down to the ground and feel your body heave…

Black Sabbath – 2017

They crossed the ocean, turned every bend, went through magic and through life’s reality, and not once needed to pretend. Sabbath bloody Sabbath and their far-from-silent symphonies echoed to the dreams of our souls. We eat our rat salads and watch Clofetus bare his soul in an impressive drum solo for a crowd that could have torn him apart but openly embraced him. Then return the Iron Men, the neon lights shining on them again and the crowd wondering will it ever happen again? This band have spoken for those tired of being pushed around and told just what to do and who will fight the world until they’ve won and love comes flowing through. Paranoid? Of course.

The last show.

Ever.

Well, February 13 2020 does mark 50 years since the release of their eponymous debut…
