Billy Talent has revealed details about the upcoming release of their fourth full length album. In a posting on the band’s website, www.billytalent.com, the group announced that the title of the album is Dead Silence, which will be released on 10 September 2012.
Dead Silence was recorded at The Armoury Studios (Vancouver), Noble Street Studios (Toronto) and at Billy Talent Headquarters in Toronto. The album was produced by Billy Talent guitarist Ian D’Sa who has, over the years built up his production chops working with the likes of Die Mannequin, One Second 2 Late and The Mahones as well as co-producing Billy Talent II with Gavin Brown.
In late June, fans got an early taste of the album with the release of the track “Viking Death March.” The track was released as a thank you to fans for being patient while the band finished up work on Dead Silence.
While putting the final touches on Dead Silence, the band got a respite from the studio and headed over to Europe for a number of major festival shows including a return to Germany to play the infamous Rock Am Ring festival in front of over 115,000 fans. The official video for “Viking Death March” will premiere on www.billytalent.com on Friday, July 13, 2012. The clip was filmed by award-winning directors Michael Maxxis and David Logan during the band’s recent European tour and captures all of the live excitement and energy the band has become renowned for.
The guys will be back for a sold out London show on 15 August before playing Reading & Leeds Festival at the end of August.
